Canadian Heating Elements ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you give us: when you submit the quote or contact form, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, the equipment details or message you provide, and — if you use our quote form — photos of your equipment or its data tag.
- Information collected automatically: our hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and to keep the site running.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit only to:
- Respond to your quote request or inquiry and provide pricing and product information.
- Fulfil and follow up on orders you place with us.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our service, and only for the purposes described below:
- Service providers who help us operate the site and respond to you — currently our website host (Cloudflare), our email delivery provider (Brevo), and our customer relationship management (CRM) tool (systeme.io) — each bound to use your information only to provide that service.
- Manufacturing or fulfillment partners — for product lines we don't produce ourselves in-house, we pass your quote request (contact details, equipment information, and any photos) to the partner who builds or supplies that product, solely to prepare and fulfill your quote. We ask this consent directly on the quote form before you submit — we do not share your information with a fulfillment partner without it.
We may also disclose information where required by law.
Data retention
We keep quote and contact submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and maintain our business records, then delete or anonymize them.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses minimal cookies needed for basic operation. We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand site traffic; it is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies or collect personally identifiable information.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure how visitors find and use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects data such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and general location, and processes it on Google's servers under Google's privacy policy. This helps us understand overall traffic and improve the site; we do not use it to identify you personally. You can opt out by using Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided to us by emailing info@canadianheatingelements.ca. We will respond as required by applicable law.
